Découverte à Cadix

A georadar survey conducted by Lázaro Lagóstena of the University of Cadiz beside the Doña Blanca Phoenician settlement. The new settlement is approximately 3 hectares in area, or 250 x 125 metres along the sides. The structures discovered underground are between 0.5 and 2.0 metres deep. Lagóstena said thay they interpreted the new discovery as the port space of the Phoenicio-Punic settlement. We can identify it with the port structure of Doña Blanca from the 5th to the 3rd centuries bc. Clear Hellenistic influences can be seen although it also has similarities with Carthage. The site is well preserved with little damage from development. Story here with pics, in Castilian - https://elpais.com/cultura/2017/08/04/actualidad/1501863888_268767.html
